Meet Your Coordinator: A Little About Me

Hey there! I’m Erika, and if you’re here, it’s probably because you’re curious to know a bit more about the person who will be helping make your wedding day smooth, stress-free, and totally you. Think of me as the third wheel in your wedding planning—someone who’s by your side through every step of the process and right there with you on the big day, ensuring everything goes off without a hitch.

I come from a background in emergency services/public safety, where I learned how to stay calm, think quickly, and handle whatever comes my way. These days, I’ve swapped out sirens for wedding bells, but I still use those same skills to keep your day running smoothly. It’s all about making sure you can enjoy every moment without worrying about the little details.

So if you’re curious about who I am, what I do, and why I’m so passionate about helping couples have the best day ever—this blog is for you. Grab your favorite coffee (you’ll find out soon that mine’s an iced white chocolate mocha ), get cozy, and let’s jump in. I’m sharing a bit of my heart, my own wedding story, and what really happens behind the scenes on a wedding day. Let’s go! 💍✨

Coffee, Cozy Vibes, and The Little Things That Make Me Tick

First things first: I’m obsessed with iced white chocolate mochas. It’s my go-to, no matter the weather (yes, even when its -50 wind-chill). There’s something about that perfect, chilled cup that just makes everything feel right. I’m all about supporting local coffee spots—Stone Creek Coffee, Blue Collar Coffee and Inclusion Coffee are some of my favorite spots.

When I’m not busy with wedding details, you’ll find me enjoying life’s simpler pleasures—like curling up with a good book, surrounded by blankets (I'm basically a blanket connoisseur), or spending time with my husband, Brandon, and our dog, Ember. I’m a big fan of brunches with friends, cozy nights in, and getting together for a Friday fish fry with a brandy old fashioned in hand. Life’s about balance, right? And I think I’ve found mine between my love for cozy homebody moments and my excitement for travel and adventure.

My Wedding: A Perfect Reflection of Us

Brandon and I had originally planned a local wedding in Wisconsin, but we quickly realized it wasn’t quite right for us. We wanted something more authentic to who we are, so we scrapped all the plans and decided to head to the mountains of Colorado a few months later. We kept it intimate, just a few of our closest people, surrounded by snow, and the feeling of truly being in the moment.

I wore winter boots under my dress (because, snow!) and couldn’t have been more excited about it. We couldn’t bring Ember with us, but she was still there in spirit—with her paw print stamped on our marriage certificate as our witness. Oh, and we also had a small oxygen bottle with us because, you know, altitude problems. The timeline did go off track at a few points, but honestly, we didn’t care. It was perfect. That experience taught me the power of letting go of expectations—something I remind every couple I work with to do.

What My Friends Say About Me

If you asked my friends to describe me, they’d say I’m loyal, calm, and organized. I’m the person you want around when things get a little chaotic because I stay grounded and keep everything running smoothly. But don’t get me wrong—I also know how to enjoy the quieter moments, whether it’s a cozy night in or an exciting adventure out. I’m a mix of homebody and wanderer, and I think that balance is what makes life so fun.

And if you asked about my love for food, they’d definitely tell you it’s real. I’m all about enjoying the simple things—like grabbing a Culver’s kids meal (seriously, it’s the best!), indulging in custard (though I’ll happily settle for ice cream), or savoring a Friday fish fry with a brandy old fashioned in hand. It’s the little things that make life sweeter, right?

The Best Part of a Wedding Day

When I think back to my own wedding in Colorado, it’s the feeling of being fully present that stands out the most. With just a few close people, the snow falling around us, and nothing else to worry about, it was perfect. That’s the experience I want for every couple I work with.

The best part of my job is seeing that same sense of peace and joy take over. It’s when the couple finally gets to relax, enjoy their day, and let everything fall into place. Watching the laughter, the love, and of course, the big dance party—it’s the magic of the day. My role is to make sure all those little details are handled, so you can focus on what really matters: being in the moment with the people you love.

Why I Believe in Marriage

Marriage is a beautiful thing—it’s about choosing each other every day. It’s not always perfect, but it’s real, and it’s worth it. I’m passionate about helping couples celebrate that. Weddings aren’t just about the details; they’re about the people, the memories, and the celebration of love. I’m here to help create that space for you—so you can enjoy every moment of it.

Behind the Scenes: The Magic You Don’t See

A lot of what I do happens behind the scenes. It’s making sure everything runs smoothly, handling the details, and keeping the day on track so you can relax. From the ceremony to the reception, I make sure everything flows naturally so you can focus on what really matters.

One of my favorite things is seeing all the elements come together—like the flowers, lighting, and decor. There’s something so satisfying about creating a space that feels just right for you. It’s all about making your vision come to life in a way that feels effortless.

The Challenges I Love Solving

Every wedding has its challenges, and I love solving them. Whether it’s making sure the timeline stays on track, managing vendor communication, or handling last-minute changes, I’m on it. Here are some of the things I help with:

  • Timeline management: Keeping things running on time so everyone can enjoy the day without rushing.

  • Vendor coordination: Ensuring everything is set up and ready to go without any hiccups.

  • Handling unexpected issues: Whether it’s weather, a delay, or something else, I’m always ready to adapt and make it work.

  • Managing family dynamics: Weddings can bring out emotions, and I’m here to make sure everyone feels heard and respected.

  • Stress-free bridal party: Making sure your bridal party knows where to be and when, so they can have fun too!

More Than Just a Job

For me, wedding coordination isn’t just about checking off a to-do list. It’s about creating a day that reflects who you are as a couple and making sure you get to fully enjoy the experience. I’m here to help make it happen—and to make sure you feel celebrated every step of the way.

I’m not just a coordinator—I’m someone who truly cares about making your day as joyful and memorable as possible. From the quiet moments to the wild dance floor celebrations, I’m there to ensure you get to savor it all.
